Youth Martial Arts — Ages 6–12+

A challenging, age-appropriate curriculum that builds discipline, respect, fitness, and academic focus in kids ages 6-12+.

Parents of elementary and middle-school-age kids come to Bushi Ban Pearland for one core reason: they want their child to build real discipline, respect, and focus — not just burn energy. Our Youth Martial Arts program for ages 6–12+ is built around a challenging, age-appropriate curriculum that parallels the values you're already teaching at home.

Who It's For

This program is designed for children ages 6 through 12 and up who are ready for structured, goal-oriented training. It works well for kids who need an outlet for energy, kids who need a confidence boost, and everyone in between — no prior experience required.

What They'll Learn

Your child will progress through a structured curriculum of martial arts technique, fitness conditioning, and character lessons. Belts and stripes are earned through real, demonstrated achievement — every rank actually means something, which is part of why kids stay motivated year after year.

Benefits

  • Discipline and respect that carries over into school and home life
  • Improved physical fitness, strength, and coordination
  • Sharper academic focus and listening skills
  • A genuine sense of accomplishment tied to real progress, not participation trophies
  • A positive peer community of other kids working toward the same goals

What to Expect in a Trial Class

Your child will join an active class alongside other students in their age range, working through warm-ups, technique instruction, and structured drills led by a certified Black Belt instructor. It's a great way to see the energy and structure of the program firsthand before enrolling. Comfortable athletic wear is fine for the first visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age range is Youth Martial Arts for?

This program serves children ages 6 through 12 and up, bridging the gap between our preschool Little Warriors program and our Teen program.

How long does it take to earn a belt?

Belts and stripes are earned based on demonstrated skill and effort rather than time alone, so pace varies by student. Our instructors can walk you through what progress looks like during a trial class.

Is this program only for kids who want to compete?

No. Most families join for the discipline, fitness, and confidence-building benefits, not competition. Competitive opportunities may be available for interested students.

Can my child do Youth Martial Arts and Afterschool Care together?

Yes — many of our Afterschool Child Care families have their child's martial arts class built directly into the afterschool day. Ask our team about combining the two.
